What's your thoughts about Wikipedia? Is it trustworthy? Is it just a huge scam? Or maybe it's the Masonic Lodge's newest weapon in it's struggle for world domination and it's battle against the Vatican State?

What's your thoughts?

everyone can chage to whatever they want to. if it is a selection for a president or some thing and one of them have a bad background, he can change it to something good. and people read it and belive it. So i dont think you can trust wikki

They have mods though. My RL friend edited in his adress as the smallest country in the world. Ten minutes later our school's IP was banned from editing articles, and the article restored back to normal.

I heard there's going to be a new Wikipedia though, with professionals editing it or something.

I often use Wikipedia as a source for info, but ofcourse, since anyone can edit the articles I usually double check the info with other sources. Although, I've only found one error on Wikipedia when using it, and I've been using it ALOT. I guess that's thanks to those moderators who constantly watch over Wikipedia to check that as much as possible is correct info :)

Wikipedia is okay, atleast to get basic point in the right direction, however you might want to take the information there less seriously until you know whether they are correct, by finding other sources. Alot of information might be correct, although they might just not be facts, but valuations, maybe biased. For use with less important tasks it'll do, but it's nothing to base an essay or book on.

My school says we cant use Wikipedia or Susning.nu when we're writing essays because the information on these sites isnt real
That's quite silly considering your school isn't supposed to evaluate what way you find information, but how good you are at summing it up into a coherent and informational text, and so on and on.

That's my point. The moderators on Wikipedia is constantly watching it and tries to fix errors as fast as possible.

everything i've searched on wikipedia seems trustworthy. But why would they be a scam? Many people use it, its like google wouldnt be a search engine anymore^^
